Private Giving for the Public Good

Under the guidance of the Sierra Madre Community Foundation Organizing Committee, the Sierra Madre Community Foundation was founded in 2000 in collaboration with the California Community Foundation. This philanthropic partnership provides comprehensive services for administering charitable endowments that benefit both the donor and the community of Sierra Madre -- today and in perpetuity.

To serve donors wishing to preserve their philanthropic legacy within their own community is the highest priority of the Sierra Madre Foundation.

A fund established with the Sierra Madre Community Foundation (SMCF) permits the maximum charitable deduction allowed by law -- and its investments are guided by some of the country's most experienced financial advisors from the California Community Foundation (CCF), the oldest community foundation in Southern California.

This cooperative effort takes advantage of the history, tradition and performance of the CCF, which provides significant economies of scale, and ensures that administrative costs are kept to a minimum.

¹The Sierra Madre Community Foundation serves as a steward for individuals, families, foundations and business organizations seeking to maximize their long-term philanthropic impact for the benefit of the Sierra Madre community. The Foundation serves as a resource for building and preserving permanently endowed funds that enhance the welfare of the residents and generally enrich the quality of life in Sierra Madre. To achieve these objectives, the Foundation will seek, accept, administer and disburse funds to appropriate recipients, in accordance with donor wishes, if applicable. Further, the Foundation will serve as a catalyst for collaborative efforts with organizations having similar missions, in response to changing Sierra Madre needs and priorities
